A PERFORMANCE BY
Aaron and Nicole Kiem take a modern approach to traditional music. Their influences include all kinds of American roots music styles like jug band, bluegrass, jazz, acoustic blues, western swing and tin pan alley. Aaron tours with the indie folk string band Boulder Acoustic Society. He also plays in the old timey duo flatfoot and with his wife Nicole. In 2005, Aaron and Nicole released "Born in the Country Raised in Town," which features their diverse folk/blues/jazz tastes. Hear selections from it at: myspace.com/aaronckeim While teaching public school orchestra, Aaron taught himself how to repair the musical instruments that the school's budget left behind. This passion lead him to start the company Bean Sprout which specializes in restoring and building mandolins, ukuleles and banjos. When Aaron is on the road, he teaches workshops on ukulele, old time banjo, fingerstyle guitar and string bass. When he is home, he pays the bills teaching lessons to people eager to learn from his diverse knowledge. One of his young students and a budding artist himself, Harrison "H-Bomb" Kearns, will play as the opening act for the Keim's performance. Learn more about Aaron and Nicole Keim: here *SATURDAY
