Montezuma's Revenge: Demand for Limited Edition Art Print Crashes
Gallery's Web Site...
June 13, 2007 - nowherelimited.com - Hundreds of art-lovers
flocked to NOWhere Limited's online store at 3pm EST today with the hope
of being one of the lucky few to acquire "Montezuma's Kiss," a very limited
edition silkscreen by acclaimed artist, Jermaine
Rogers. The edition of 25 prints SOLD OUT today shortly after it became
available for purchase. In fact, there was so much interest in this piece
that NOWhere Limited's normally rock solid web site crashed repeatedly
within seconds of the sale's launch. The site was restored to full functionality
within minutes of the initial overload, however, the web site managers
at NOWhere Limited would like to assure the public that they have taken
steps to ensure the future stability of the site.
Both the gallery and the artist would like to thank the public for
their interest in this piece and for their patience with any issues they
may have experienced during this very special sale. Please find an official
statement from NOWhere Limited below:
"Thank you everyone for your support and understanding today. We are
pleased to report that while it's true, our web server suffered a brief
meltdown this afternoon, our online shopping cart retained its integrity.
All customers that received confirmation emails on the purchase of Montezuma's
Kiss will indeed get their print. Luckily, we were able to contact Jermaine
before the next art print scheduled to be released through NOWhere Limited
went to press. Due to the overwhelming response to today's sale our next
offering will be an edition of 50 in an effort to keep customers happy
while still maintaining the stature of a very limited release. That being
said, when hundreds of people make a surge toward 50 prints there are bound
to be some people left out. You have our sincere apologies and we assure
you that steps have been taken to ensure the future stability of the site.
As of 4:30 pm EST our website http://www.nowherelimited.com
was relocated to an even 'beefier' server. Our technicians have analyzed
the data from today's crash and have assured us that it will not be an
issue in the future."
